Event // Sam Edelman & Monar Pop-Up Store

After having a look at the stock sale at Jeurrisen (of which you about yesterday), I jetted of to Antwerp to celebrate the opening of the Sam Edelman pop-up store at Monar. Tons of celebrities, press, bloggers and other fans gathered together to give one of America's favorite shoe designers a warm welcome into our teeny, tiny country. 

To promote his brand in Europe, Sam Edelman is planning to host an event in a trendy European city every six months. After Amsterdam, Milan and Paris, it was Antwerp's turn last Friday. Shortly after opening my blog, I proudly presented my readers my first pair of Sam Edelman shoes, so I just had to attend this event. See it as some kind of symbolic gesture; you can read the blogpost HERE, but please ignore the awful pictures and writing I published back then.

At the Monar store, the invitees had the chance to pose in front of the logo wall with a pair of Sam Edelman shoes. The designer himself will choose the most original picture and the winner will win a trip to New York for two, a personal tour inside of the Sam Edelman shop and design studio and will get to take a pair of shoes home. Oh, and did I mention that the winner will stay at The Quin Hotel, one of New York's most luxurious hotels? I had to take a chance, of course. I'm discussing my strategies with the photographer in the picture above. ;)

And tadaaa! The picture that made it to the cut! I love how the shoes go perfectly with this dress. This picture is hanging inside of the pop-up store, among all the other ones, and Sam Edelman will announce the winner on 5 May. I took this snap with my iPhone from the actual picture, so excuse me for the crappy quality. Fingers crossed that my duck face will get my booty to NYC! And this picture reminds me  of the fact that I should never try to do the duck face again... Ever.

You can't go to a shoe event without drooling of some nice pair of heels or flats and even more so if they are super affordable (Thank you, Sam!). Here's a selection of my favorites:

Aah, slip ons... I literally love them. Try to combine them with jeans, shorts or even a dress and you'll see that they go with everything. There really are no limits when it comes to fashion.

Yes, that's me with Sam Edelman himself! And boy, is he one adorable fella? He really has that true American charm written all over him. Extremely friendly and genuine; he even made me blush and stutter by complimenting me on my dress and shoes (I was wearing my Chloé Susan boots). Too cute.
